Job Title: VAWG Service Manager

Location: Leytonstone, London with flexible hybrid working

Salary:  £38,850 per annum

Contract type: Permanent, subject to funding.

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Role Outline

The VAWG manager will have overall management responsibility for the Violence against Women and Girls Team. They will directly manage advocates, Independent Disability and Domestic Violence Advisers (IDDVAs) and two Senior advocates. The VAWG Manager will also provide some direct casework support to cover for staff absence. They will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of advocacy and support for our clients. They will also collate casework data and provide reports to the CEO for our funders and annual reports.

The VAWG manager’s responsibilities will be:

  • To manage the Stay Safe East Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)  Service supporting disabled survivors of domestic violence and abuse, sexual violence and other forms of VAWG.
  • To implement a high-quality service, to efficiently monitor casework and maintain an effective casework database system
  • To lead the VAWG team with empathy, ensuring that the team are supported to flourish in their role
  • To offer continuous improvements and develop casework support
  • To advocate for the safety of our clients, their children or other dependents
  • To work within the social model of disability and use non-discriminatory practice
  • To work alongside other managers as part of Stay Safe East’s leadership team
  • To deputise for the CEO as required
